"CANDY RUSH"
With a red marker in hand, I scribbled regular pieces of painter's tape and then created a backdrop where I overlapped both pieces to form a crude grid. Then, with a clear plate of glass, I left it to rest on top of the tape so I could dab water color droplets and form the 'ants' that end up taking the cupcake away. The cupcake was drawn on dry media bristol and then colored with various pencils.

Here's the set up I created for the production for "In the Woods".
Using a desk lamp, I shone one bright light to create the ambience for a the woods. The woods themselves were painted using various ink markers and paint on a 6 in. x 4.5 in. mini canvas held up by black construction paper.

Here is the color corrected and edited version of the canvas when shot straight on. The water came from an additional filter in the software.

This is a shot that was recorded in the short film. Our main protagonist must apply makeup to bypass the spirit in the woods. Though it's up for interpretation, I like to consider her reasoning behind it is due to appearing similar to him.

The spirit in the woods was created using a layering technique of various pieces of paper. In order to stick them upright onto the canvas, miniature wads of tape were cut out and placed underneath each piece, per shot.

"Paper and Clay"
Before I solidified the plot of the story, I created miniature figurines to act as possible props for a different story. The milk unfortunately didn't make it into the film, but maybe one day (:

"Enter the Woods "
Due to a lack of proper software, I unfortunately had to use a free online program that contained a watermark. With that out of the way, a simple story can be distinguished by watching the short film in the sense that darkness follows the main character in their attempt to 'fit in' to the darkness of the woods. Many elements of this story were taken with symbolism in mind, to allow the audience to craft their own story and meaning behind the actions of the figures.
To create the backdrop I painted with ink on a 5 inch by 4 inch canvas and propped it with painter's tape. For light, I aimed a lamp to create ambience and the illusion of depth. For the scenes where our main character get smaller, I cut incrementally smaller figures to fool the audience into believing they were walking away. In order to get it to walk at all, I had to glue a chopstick so that I'd be able to move it along a path without my hand in the way of film.

Trash in Motion
For a quick project in stop motion, I decided to use items what one might consider 'trash' to create a concept of a cat battling a monster on the open sea.
